Looks like it's out of focus. Use the manual focus to focus the scene. Write down the value when focused accurately. Then go to the config parameter in the app and change the default initial focus to that value. The parameter is in the Advanced Configuration section of the app (I'm working from memory). Then retry stargazing/scenery mode.
