2.4.2 isn't stable and I see that Android is now up to 2.5. Why is iOS so far behind and why can't we continue to use 2.3.3 (2.4.9) until something usable is released?

This is technically the same as 2.4.2 on iOS/iPadOS.
Please don't include beta releases as part of the "latest release" statement.
