Tech@ZWO What magnification do you want to customize?
Within the focus routine. It's always been as far as I know a slight zoomed in widefield, then when you drag the zoom in box over a star just one zoom level. It'd be useful if that zoom in box magnification can be customised so collimation via star test becomes easier to see. As it is currently via my short focal length telescopes it is very difficult or next to impossible to see the airy disk pattern of a defocused star with the current magnification, even if it were slightly blurry via more magnification it'd give me a chance to assess the airy disk concentricity for collimation purposes as to check true collimation of a telescope is best done via a real star test.
It'd be useful via this method and camera because if you have other optical issues such as tilt you can assess it whilst the camera is connected and whilst next to the telescope, I know you can check optical issues via visual methods and with additional collimation/alignment tools, but removing your imaging equipment changes the load on the focuser for one thing (a process change) so it would be better to be able to do it via the computer controller (in this case asiair).
If possible tilt analysis (vital) and backspacing analysis (not so important as you can see it quite easily) would also be invaluable tools to implement.
