Slow ASI2600MC Air USB-C Transfer Speeds

Have been researching a lot into the 2600 Air I recently purchased. Love the simplicity of the design (3-in-1) but there are some puzzling technical choices that were made, especially for a product released in 2024 (USB-A ports are only 2.0!?!)

ZWO manual states that USB-C port can be used for speedy file transfer. Unfortunately, I'm only getting USB 2.0 speeds from the port. Have tried three cables and several USB-C ports on my M4 Mac mini (direct to 3.1+ ports) and another attached hub. Have tried with 2600 Air powered and unpowered (same either way).

Is the USB-C port limited to 2.0 speeds? Makes a _40GB transfer take forever. Can only image how slow transfer will be as I get closer to capacity for long imaging sessions.

Thanks! Would love to get this solved. (Would REALLY love to see ZWO implement USB drive capability for the USB-C port)

Okay, confirmed across 3 computers (a M4 Mac mini, a M2 MacBook Pro, and a Windows 11 PC with USB 3.2 ports).

Only transferring at USB 2.0 speeds...

I conducted a test on my computer, and the transfer speed of the Type-C port on the 2600MC Air camera is approximately 30 MB per second. Even when using a WiFi connection to export files in FIT format, the speed is still quite fast. Could you please let us know the specific Type-C reading speed (in MB per second) on your computer? Additionally, would it be possible for you to provide a screenshot of the speed during the transfer process? It should be noted that the reading speed is also related to your computer's hard drive and the transfer protocol of the USB port.

Thank you for conducting the test. It seems based on your results that the USB-C port is limited to USB 2.0 speeds, not the USB 3.0+ speeds typical when using USB-C ports. (USB 2.0 is approx 30 MB/s)

These are the same speeds my camera is getting.

As a separate question, if I purchase a standalone Asi Air Plus 256GB can it run the camera? Or will the camera’s on-board AsiAir instance cause conflicts?

Looking forward to the next AsiAir computer since current one is 2+ years portable-release. Hopefully based on a platform like Orange Pi 5 Ultra.

Appreciate all. Very much enjoying my ZWO products (AM5N, camera). Just wish the Air cameras had used Asi Air Plus hardware and not the Asi Air Mini.
