Last answer is correct, but note that those 3 points in the target area always cross over the Zenith (the line directly overhead between north and south). This means if you happen to be stuck on say an apartment balcony with only a view of the sky to the east, or west, then you cannot calibrate EQ mode. If you had a north facing balcony, you could choose the target area to the north, and likewise to the south, but not east or west.
