SLOW keyboard in StarAtlas search

Since the latest software update, my two ipads and my iphone are incredibly slow when searching in the StarAtlas. They have different ios versions (none are ios26). The problem exists when using Star atlas while connected to the S50, and also when not connected. Is this a bug in the latest release?

It’s possible that network issues might be affecting the performance, as we have tested multiple iOS devices and have not observed this problem.

Support@Seestar I am having the same bogged down effect when searching the star atlas.

Is it possible that the additional star catalogs added require much more processing power to search through, thus bogging down my iPhone 13 during the searching time?

Support@Seestar This is happening with straight wifi connection. Not connecting with STA. Three different ios devices all have the same issue. No problem before this update.
Also happens when using Star Atlas on device with no connection at all to the S50.
Also have Dwarf 3. No issues when connected direct using wifi.

The lag depends on the letter being pressed. "N" takes a LONG time, "Z" is almost instantaneous. The second letter is always much faster thsan the first, and the third letter even faster. This corresponds with a smaller group of possibilitys being displayed and this list becoming progressively smaller as fewer possibilities match the typed letters.
It is like the app is indexing every time.
Solution - fix the app
OR... just wait for a couple of minutes is you dare think the you might want to use the NGS, Caldwell, IC catalogs etc.

OR is it due to the additional catalogs being stored on a SLOW SeeStar server somewhere in the world and not connected to a CDN.

OR are the catalogs stored within the app?

YEP, I thought the app was locked up/frozen for an extended time.

KatNRick I tested the app with connecteion to seestar, not connected but wifi on so connected to internet, and not connected to seestar and wifi off. Tested on iphone16pro, an old ipad and a newer ipad. Both iopads are wifi only. They each run a different version of ios. The results are the same in each case, so it appears the problem is located within the app and not a server problem.
I have friends with S30 and use ios. They also report the same issue.

Its a catalog search algorithm issue. Please log a ticket to get more traction and faster resolve.

I can confirm Phil’s report is the same with my iPhone xsmax and iPad Pro (2017) and my wife’s iPhone 16 pro max. The 16 is faster than my xsmax but still very slow, especially with the letter N. I assume due to many NGC items in the catalog. As a side note my old google pixel 2 on android has no issues on the same S30.
