Solution found:
I was determined to find a fix for the disconnects since I plan on using the S50 at Star parties .
Before going to the park I renamed my WiFi and set a new password just in case.
(this did NOT fix the problem)
I went back to the park to work on the problem.
I did note over 20 WiFi networks active in the area.
I also brought along a Laptop and my Ipad to test connections with both.
( both had the same connection issues)
I did a lot of testing with the WiFi connection .
I drove back to the same problem location and verified the same issue.
I then drove about 1 mile to a location which did not show all the WiFi networks, and the S50 connected and worked OK.
So this verified something about all the WiFi stations in the problem area was causing the issue.
Something I noticed when trying to connect in the problem area.
Many times I got the msg "Unable to Join the network"
When I was able to connect it showed "privacy Warning". Never saw that before with any WiFi connection.
I wonder if this means something else was on the same address?
(Normally when I get a good connection I see the msg "No Internet Connection")
After looking at various settings I noticed I had set up for 5G WiFi connection.
SOLUTION:
I Changed S50 to 2.4G and saw an instant improvement.
Fast connect from Ipad or Laptop to the S50. No more dropouts .
Shutdown, restart, WiFi instantly shows up and makes connection with no problem.
Not an expert on WiFI and addresses , but something was wrong in the 5G band.
Now Happy I can feel confident on using my S50 in a busy WiFi environment like a star party.
