Plan mode goes from midnight to midnight?

Hi,

Really really really frustrated here.
I want to create a plan that starts at 8pm, runs until, say, 3am.
The planner screen only allows me to go up to midnight?
And I don't seem able to sequence plans so that one ends midnight and the other starts midnight?

What's going on? Why can't I plan across midnight?

Any takers? It's completely bonkers. Why can't I create a plan that goes across midnight, which everyone will pretty much want to do pretty much every time?

You can create a plan that runs across midnight, I do so all the time. Firstly are you creating the plan correctly? On the screen where you create a plan, before you do so, tap on the i in a circle button in the top right hand corner to follow the plan tutorial to check you are creating the plan correctly.

I'm sure I'm doing this right (I've been into astrophotography for a few years now, used APT, NINA etc).

But, on the plan screen, this is what I see:

If you look at the times across the bottom, they start and end with midnight. I simply cannot figure out any way to do this differently. I agree that the help pages show plans crossing midnight, but I can't do it!

I'm pretty sure everything else is set up correctly eg date, time, location etc.

Any ideas?

The timescale in the Plan will change according to the seasons and your latitude. Its linked to the times of astronomical twilight at your location. I don't know where you are based but that is how its supposed to work so it will only allow you to image during astronomical darkness. If the times are incorrect perhaps the app is not synching with your phone?

Perhaps, but it shows the right location (in my case, London). All I know is, it goes from exactly midnight to midnight!

I'll play around with it, see what I can find out. At least now I know that it's possible, not a limitation of the planner.

(Also, I don't see how there could be any astro darkness during those times...?)

Interesting. I just installed the app on my tablet and it works fine.

So, something odddddd going on with the phone. I might just install and reinstall it, see what happens.

I'm in Derbyshire and my plan times on display are from 19:00 - 05:00. If you are in London I would think you would have identical or something close to this. My sunset is at 17:47 and sunrise at 06:48. I take it you have the latest firmware/software updates. Otherwise one for ZWO to respond to. Looks like you just solved it!

All good - reinstalled on the phone and, as if by magic, I'm now able to plan as per my expectation!
