I talked to my GPT on this after having the same experience. Pretested at midnight (Mesa, AZ, US) and all spot on. Shut down, left scope set up. Came back at 4 am, turned on, moon find was 30 degrees off. GPT thinks its because the DSO find uses plate shift algorithms and planets don't because of their apparent motion, so scope caches old locations from first session and without moving doesn't have a reason to reset the map. Suggested fix was start scope, go do a DSO, do a reframe to force the field to be updated and then do the move to the moon. I told GPT thank you and that I would practice for the next 2 years until the next one, lol...
