Hello,
I would like to report a networking issue related to Station Mode when using ASIAIR on a 10.0.0.x network.
Environment:
- ASIAIR connected in Station Mode
- Home network subnet: 10.0.0.x
- DHCP enabled on router
Observed behavior:
- ASIAIR successfully connects to WiFi
- An IP address is assigned in the 10.0.0.x range
- However, the device is not reachable from the LAN
- The ASIAIR app cannot reliably connect to the device
Troubleshooting done:
- Verified WiFi credentials and signal strength
- Confirmed DHCP is working correctly
- No firewall rules blocking local traffic
- Same setup works correctly when using a different subnet (e.g. 192.168.x.x)
Conclusion:
This appears to be a known issue/limitation when the local network uses the 10.0.0.x subnet.
Why this is important:
- 10.0.0.0/24 is widely used in home, advanced, and professional networks
- Requiring users to change their LAN subnet is not a realistic solution
- Current workarounds (secondary router, isolated network) add unnecessary complexity
Even if this behavior is already known, it would be important to address it, as it significantly impacts real-world usability of Station Mode.
Suggestion:
- Ensure full compatibility with standard DHCP networks regardless of subnet
- Avoid internal fixed subnet assumptions
- Improve routing/bridging behavior in Station Mode
Has anyone found a proper solution, or is there any official update planned?
Thanks!
