I've only used EQ mode. The first 3 times I used my S30 Pro, everything went great. The next 3 times, it was a nightmare. I was constantly getting star trails no matter what I did. I have the latest app. I have the latest firmware. The last thing I tried before I returned it was resetting it by holding the reset button. I had to set-up the network again, but I didn't lose anything. I got out this morning, and when I did the compass calibration, I had to spin it around 25 or 30 times before it was happy. I redid the compass calibration, and it was another 25 or 30 times. The first few times, when it worked, I only had to go around trice at the most, so this is new After it said it was calibrated, I was able to take a picture of the Whirlpool Galaxy for 60 minutes, using 30 second exposures, and I don't think it rejected a single shot.
Is this new massive number of spins a sign of problems? Does anyone else have to spin theirs so many times? Is this covered under warranty if this requires repairs?
