I got up at 1:00am, packed up my Seestar S30 Pro, and drove to the location where I use it. I got it all set up, filled with optimism considering the last time I used it everything went great. How wrong I was. As I stood in the 20° weather I got everything level, I did the compass calibration, I set the polar alignment, I did the polar deviation, I pointed it at the Ring Nebula and it started taking a picture. The first shot came out great. After that... star trails, star trails, star trails, star trails. I stopped it, closed the arm, redid everything, and pointed it back at the Ring Nebula. This time it told me it couldn't find it because it was below the horizon. I closed the arm again, redid everything again and pointed it at M100. The first shot came out great, and then... star trails, star trails, star trails, star trails.

ZWO owes me more than apology. I want a partial refund for all of my time this worthless piece of junk has wasted.

Good luck in getting a refund, there are so many issues that need to be fixed with the software and firmware despite what other people are saying on this forum! Declination drift etc which can be resolved by the software/firmware, let's hope things get fixed quickly.

Seestar_S50 Mine is headed back to the ZWO Retailer. They agreed to refund my $ after spending 2 months dealing with problems.

Had this issue with my S50 since around the January firmware update. Basically 3'ish months of EQ being completely broken... and many others with the same issue. Alt/Az works fine...but that limits you on things...

Had an S30 Pro preordered, cancelled it. I may get banned for saying it... went with their competitor... and I have no issues with tracking in EQ even around 60 sec exposures...can go higher but obviously higher rejection rate. Similar to the S30 Pro... close enough to not care anyway....

Their firmware/tracking debacle and them dragging their feet has ensured I'll never purchase one of their products again.

Well said, bloatware just give us the app to run the scope, not interested in all the ads, medals, promotions.

I would like an ala carte software download. Besides the ads, tips and other promos, I don't want the drizzling (4k), background extraction and all the other post processing macros. The newer dark frame processing needs to go too.
