Some good news to report - so far I have done more imaging with v3 and ran several plans without issue. I have a asi294mc, zwo focuser and filter wheel. Asi220mm guider. Am5 Mount. Fra400 scope with reducer running f3.9. things I tested: guiding, focusing, filter change, auto focus in temperature change, meridian flip, preview target search and goto, several multi object plans. It all worked well. I did not attempt allsky polar alignment however. There is just one change I noticed - I could not add objects to the end of a plan while it's active but paused. I thought I could do that in the past but I could be wrong - you know age issues :-)

Suggestions: It would be useful to allow adding objects plan in process without a reset as long as it's paused and after a current object

Hello, I'm back with my plate solving issues (fortunately I didn't need it to enjoy the eclipse :- ) ). I realized that for the first time the message "Mount position does not match Askari. Please Sync first". Which I did with no change... Since ages Asiair tells me do switch Off DST on my EQ8 mount. This time I did it too but once again there was no impact on my problems. At the end of the day, despite it seems a bit crazy, it seems that my PS issues occurs on SH2-82 and its suburbs only ! Btw it's a nice nebula so if any one of you wants to try their luck to check my hypothesis :-)

What sort of ALT/AZ was SH2-82 in when it was giving you grief with the plate solve?
I'd point at it tonight and try a plate solve but my neighbour wouldn't like the scope pointing at their house.

Larry.Cable I dont do rants, I state bluntly the facts of situations...in this case mine. There is a serious learning curve ahead of me, and I look for advice from anyone with experience who is willing to give it. I have done much visual observing and clumsy astrophotography now approaching 60 years. Stepping up into your world and the world of ZWO tech was/is a logical step for me. Having to navigate buggy software wasnt in my initial playbook. Now Im told to dive into Asiair V3.0. Some say go go go, some say stay away. I dont even know if I should setup initially using Sky Atlas alone or go with Asiair thruout. The "Missing Manual 1.9" is being quite informative.

I'll try disconnecting the CAA tomorrow night if the weather holds. The mount has been tracking like a champ after the manual guide calibration routines, so I'd be surprised if it didn't work better if I disabled/disconnected the CAA.
The last lot of manual guiding calibration subs were good enough to make me consider using dithering again.
For tonight I'm simply trying a new plan that has the same targets with the same angles less 180 deg. I've swapped app versions and firmware many times without starting a new plan, so figured it couldn't hurt to reset the plan and see if that helps.

On another note, the last lot of Android logger files I grabbed seemed to have loads more details than I'm used to seeing. No response from my email, but I'd expect more details will do that.

I have to admit that I have had a similar wish as your feature request. However, what I realized is if I had thought out my AutoRun/Plan prior to executing the session I would not have had the need. ASIAIR gives you the opportunity to edit prior to executing so I'm not really sure why you would make the ask you did. Since then, I have learned to spend my time up-front to think through my session prior to executing it. In short, when planning a session save yourself time and effort by creating a good plan in the first place.

ZWO doesn't implement feature requests from users. Been that way for years, unfortunately.

Luxo unfortunately, yes. They are the only company i know to ignore valuable suggestions by their customers and provide questionable „solutions“ that sometimes totally miss the point.

hello @Moontanner ! SH2-82 is (where I live, south of France) AZ140°/Alt60° so high enough to avoid problems with your jealous neighbor :-) This night I tried many PS and I noticed that as I walked away 2-3° in DEC (and equivalent in AD) PS were getting almost normal. So It looks like the Bermuda triangle of plate solving ! Thank you in advance for giving a try yourself.

I had a look on Stellarium and noticed there's quite a few moving stars in that area for your location. It's getting ridiculous lately with all the satellites.
The Little Cocoon Nebula is just above 20deg alt at the beginning of the evening here. My neighbours wouldn't be jealous. They might call the police. 😃

Corsair I'd be interested to see if your guiding bug that you're experiencing still happens if you remove the CAA (or would simple disabling it work? not sure) from your imaging train.

I ended up disabling the CAA after the first target failed guide calibration miserably. I also turned off the recalibrate after MF setting to see how the mount would go without more than my 1x manual guide calibration routine.
Results were better than expected, so I don't think the mount is the problem. I'll leave on the recalibrate after MF tonight and see how that goes with the CAA turned off.

One environmental change to my location is the new LED street lights being installed. They're much better at keeping the ground bright and sky dark. Though I do wonder about the possibility of glare impacting the scope at certain angles.
The glare from LEDS is terrible and I've noticed the occasional odd artifact in some of my subs. Easily eliminated by adding a temporary shield to test that one.

KaufmannRoger ymmv, but i think always planning perfectly is an illusion. I know because i'm german – we try to plan everything perfectly and most of the time we fail miserably 😅

Again, putting thought into your plan helps the plan go smoothly and as I mentioned ASIAIR also gives you the opportunity to edit before executing the autorun/plan. I often tweak mine just before tapping the run button and planning perfectly isn't an illusion, it's a goal.
