For those having trouble calibrating the compass: have you checked the level sensor calibration first?
I was wondering whether an incorrectly calibrated level sensor could interfere with compass calibration, especially if the Seestar uses accelerometer data for tilt compensation. My level sensor was significantly off, and after calibrating it properly, pointing improved dramatically — it now finds the Sun almost immediately.
I don’t know whether the Seestar actually uses the level sensor during compass calibration, but it might be worth checking and calibrating the level sensor first.
