2026 Edition: ASIAIR App on Windows 11 using Windows Subsystem for Android (WSA)

This took a little while to put together but hope it is helpful. It is an alternative way of running the ASIAIR App on a Windows 11 computer without the need for BlueStacks.

Note: WSA is now being maintained on GitHub rather than by Microsoft who dropped support for it.

Hi Mr. H,

A little context. I'm new to the AsiAir. I used a mini PC with NINA in the past. I'm also an old guy with arthritic sausage fingers that doesn't navigate touch screens all that well. So when I heard that it was possible to use the AsiAir on a Windows PC using an Android emulator, I was beside myself with joy. I first tried to use Bluestack 5, but when I got to the point of launching the AsiAir app, I was unable to connect my PC. I thought it must be some issue with Bluestacks.

I then discovered your technique using WSA. I followed your most excellent tutorial with precision and had success loading everything as you directed. When I got to launching the app, I again was unable to connect to the AsiAir.

I now believe I am suffering from a localized personal problem on my end. I'm trying to troubleshoot the issue, but unfortunately, I am somewhat technically challenged (I'm still nostalgic for DOS 2.4.)

You've already given so much of your time sharing your tutorial, I'm hesitant to ask. But if you, or any of your followers who have experienced similar issues, could give me some pointers, it would be most appreciated. Thanks and clear skies!

Hi Mr. H,

I tell folk that I'm an "empiricist" which is a fancy way of say I have no idea what I am doing. Anyhow, I discovered that I had to manually enter the correct IP address for the AsiAir and PC to connect. It took some experimentation before I figured out the correct one.

Thank you again for the excellent tutorial and sorry for wasting some of your time. Hopefully you got a chuckle.

@Pips Hint Thanks for putting this together! This looks like a useful alternative, especially for people who don’t want to rely on BlueStacks. I’ll definitely give the WSA method a try. One thing I’m curious about is how well the ASIAIR app handles USB and network connections through WSA compared with running it on a normal Android device.
