I just put in my order for the ASI120MM/MC yesterday. I see there on backorder. Any idea as to when I might receive it?

Also yesterday I took an old webcam and cobbled it together to make it work on my 10" Newtonian scope. I'm hoping that the software for the ASI120MM/MC will also work with my cobbled webcam. At least while waiting for my ASI120MM/MC , I'll have some time to get familiar with the software.

I see this forum is somewhat new and starting out. I'm hoping to add to what could be a fun forum.

I think most people are using FireCapture with these cameras. That may work with your webcam. If not perhaps SharpCap would.

I'll check into the software end of it. So...is FireCapture the recommended software?

Also... any recommended accessories for the ASI120MM/MC I should pick up?

Nothing apart from a decent Barlow or two and maybe a longer usb lead. The cam comes with most stuff you would need.

I looked at getting a 30' usb extension. I'm debating on getting the extension or possibly get a blue tooth or WiFi hub to avoid a tripping hazard.

I am sure it will reach you in 3-4 days.

And don't use USB extend. it will influence the transfer speed.
