224 MC arrives. Trouble starting up... Assistance?

I am a very unskilled PC user. Almost incompetent. (I've been a Mac/Apple user since the 1980's...)

But the 224 wants to be on a PC. So I appeal to the community here for assistance...

I have installed Firecapture 2.4 on my PC. Works fine with the 'dummy camera' thingy...

I think I have installed the driver correctly from the CD but I can't be sure.

When I plug the camera in with the supplied cable Firecapture says it cannot find the camera... I do check the 'ZWO' box first, as prompted.

And there I sit, looking dazedly at my computer screen....

After reading your post, i would recommend the following. Are their any other webcams attached to your machine? If not, uninstall the camera driver. Using the one from the website, reinstall the driver with the camera not attached. After the driver is installed, plug in the camera. It will then install itself as a new device. When it finishes, then launch firecapture. Advice is to use the latest firecapture. It should work
