Ok so just bought this camera for the high speed usb 3.0 interface, works on usb 3.0 until i connect a repeater extension cable, then it shows as usb 2.0, so bought another repeater extension cable (a good quality 1) same problem, reading on some forums it says this camera is pretty useless at working on usb 3.0, so why sell it with usb 3.0 as a sales pitch, isnt that false advertising????????

And your newly bought repeater cable is probably not not a USB3 version (those with blue innards in the connector). My ASI120MC-S works fine through a 10 meter USB3 extension cable as a USB3 camera.

Yes it is a good Usb 3.0 extension repeater , with the blue ends, also it does work on my old xp machine as usb 3.0 and gives frame rates of 246 a second, last night imaged Jupiter at 140 frames a second, Just a bit confused as to why its not working on my windows 7 ultimate 64bit machine.

the camera is ok if it can work as usb3.0 device when you connect directly to PC

and it donot care about the OS

can it recongized as USB3.0 device when you connect directly to your win7?
