New ASI224 with problems

I recently purchased said camera and upgraded my imaging computer with a usb3 interface, a sata3 interface, and an ssd. I installed the camera software and when I tried the included amcap I had to download a newer version before it would recognize the camera. I've downloaded the most current camera drivers and the most current firecapture and sharp cap and none of them will capture at the two highest resolutions. Firecap returns a "capture failed" message, sharpcap gets one image and drops to 0 frame rate, amcap does nothing. All operate when the resolution is set to 1024x768 or below.

I am sending this also through the product support but I wanted to run this by you guys, is there something I am missing?

Also I want to warn everyone that amcap download sites spew malware, why ZWO would promote such a crappy program is beyond me.

FireCapture creates a text log files - it should have log error that caused the capture error - check what it says in that file.

At Sam's suggestion I tried all of this on another computer.

I had to repair my other observatory computer which then ran the ASI224 at all resolutions, although with about 60% dropped frames. I had to reinstall the USB3 card drivers before it was recognized as USB3 So I'm guessing the dropped frames are due to this setup. It's an older computer and uses a PCI to USB3 adapter, no PCI express slots.

The problem with resolutions is probably something to do with my video card drivers. After installing all the original software and upgrading amcap the screen resolutions produced on my monitor did not match the selected resolutions.

I will try these newest drivers but I suspect I will have resolve this video thing on the imaging computer to solve my problem. I may just upgrade the video card.
