Just got a brand new ZWO ASI120MC-S to replace my aging cctv type all sky cam. I have tried to get it going over the last 3 nights or so with no luck at all. I just seem to get a screen full of noise that looks like screen full of hot pixels.
I am a bit of a newbie knob to all of so it's more then likely something that I am doing wrong. The goal is to have an out come like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ZKd85YfX2Y
The camera seems to work fine in normal day or room light. Software is Fire-capture and using the lens that comes with camera. I have tried meny different setting as far as Gain 'seems best with low Gain' Exp. Software Gain But no luck. Even on a star filled night out here in a dark rural area of Queensland Australia I see nothing or just nose. So, Is there anyone using one of these cameras as an all sky cam with any success willing to help out?
Regards
Eddy
