I'm really looking forward to getting that new camera. From what I've seen of the ASI224MC it should do a good job. If the ASI290MC is better than the DMK camera, I'll be quite happy. The larger sensor and smaller pixels will make centering the subject planet much easier. I will just be using whatever filter comes with the camera. Most often I'll be using a Celestron-11 @ 2900 mm (without Barlow). The small pixels of the 290 camera gives a nice 1.9X sampling. If I experience excellent seeing (which is very rare), a Barlow would up that to 3.9X.
With the old mono camera, I never got into the use of filters for color imaging. Here's the best I was able to do:

I'm hoping the color camera won't be too inferior to what a mono camera could produce. The one shot color method has improved over the years. So I'm looking forward to seeing what results.
