ZWO ASI1600MC mono cooled questions

If I calculated correctly, the sensor size is 17.7 x 13.4 mm. Would like to know what the "usable" sensor dimensions are. I estimate 17.3 x 13.0 mm. I am currently considering the ASI1600 mono cooled. My concern is the 1.25" filters cannot mount close enough to the sensor for use with fast f/ratio refactors, so I probably need to go with 36mm filters in order to cover the sensor. For example, if I went with the XAGYL filter wheel, the adapter connecting the ZWO ASI1600 to the filter wheel spaces the camera sensor too far away from the filter.

Who makes this sensor? I would like to view the spec sheet.

the resolution is 4656*3520 3.8um

so effective area is.7mm*13.3mm, diagonal is 22mm

if you use our filter wheel,the surface of the filter to the CMOS is around 10mm

1.25" filters usually have 24 diameter

so supported focal ratio scope without vignetting should be more than 10/(24-22)=F5

Thank you. Unfortunately, your filter wheel is not motorized. When do you plan to offer a motorized filter wheel?

Do you have a plan to support 31-mm unmounted filters in your electric filter wheel?

I think 31-mm filters will provide larger clear aperture allowing faster optics.

I would also like to see a 31mm filter wheel option, it should also be quite a small difference manufacturing wise as long as the wheel is not too tight inside the filter housing. I believe 31mm filters are one of the reasons that QSI has been so popular - almost no vignetting with the 8300 sensor even at f/3 (with the OAG) which is what I image at. If the filters are any further away then it means either 36mm or even larger and that can get very expensive for 3nm filters. I must say I'm very interested in the ASI1600 but moving to bigger filters might end up being prohibitively expensive. That's a another good reason to have a 31mm filter wheel option - existing owners can keep their filters.

yes, the EFW has 6 positions of 1.25" or 31mm holes

Thank You that's great news.

Another question, specifically for fast scopes: how orthogonal is the camera sensor to the imaging plane ? It's not a topic that gets much airing but is especially important for small pixels and fast focal ratios.

Yes sensor size does matter but fast focal ratio and smaller pixels exacerbate the problem.

I wouldn't want to find issues at f/3 and below but I think there is someone testing at f/4 without issue so it is looking very promising :)
