That device is fairly low spec.
Not just the storage device but also the processor.
You need write speeds of at least 33MB/s consistently. I would think the eMMC drive would be on the fringes of that.
Test this by copying a large file and see what the speed is as reported by Windows.
The laptop does not have a USB 3 port, but it does have an SD card slot. You could try using a very fast SD card as the storage device.
