ASI1600 w/ Mac & bootcamp

I am in the process of borrowing a windows laptop, but after trying this camera on my Mac running windows with SharpCapture, AstroLive, APT as well as Mac OSX with Nebulosity and having constant freezing and crashing, I am fairly sure there is something going on with this camera and Apple computers.

Even with the updated ASCOM driver.

In addition to just out right crashing, images are sometimes coming in half downloaded, or just read noise with no actual data, even with USB set to 45 vs 90.

actually we tested ASI1600 on Mac and bootcamp windows and it works

for native Mac support:

you can try nebulosity

so maybe we need to wait for your new test result to tell is it camera problem or just compatible problem

It crashed in Nebulosity several times, I never got it to work. It crashed on connection.

This new program, the OaCapture beta keeps freezing/not responding. It seems connecting the camera starts the issues, and then if I made an adjustment, specifically exposure time, that is when it freezes.

The other night, running bootcamp and ATP I was attempting to image for 9 hours, I managed 7x300s subs because of constant crashing.

So that is Windows (bootcamp on Mac): APT, Sharp Capture, AstroLive, Nebulosity

Mac OSX: Nebulosity and oaCapture.

I have also tried on a windows laptop APT and the same behavior/issues are occurring on that.

Update, SharpCap via windows lap top running windows 7 works but seems a bit glitchy.

I am having similar issues with my new ASI290MM with my mid-2014 13" retina MacBook Pro running El Capitan. I mostly use the camera in Windows 10 with Parallels or VMware Fusion. Sharpcap 2.8 has been my main capture software. The camera driver seems to lock up every 2-5 minutes, which is very frustrating.
