ASI 1600 MC Color - No color in FITS files ?

I am having trouble finding good software that will capture color FITS files.

I have used Nebulosity; Maxim DL; APT and one or two others to take DSO long exposures from ZWO ASI 1600 MC Cooled One-Shot Color camera. I have installed the ASCOM driver supplied on the camera's CD and configured it for unity gain.

Whenever I take a picture the files always save as Monochrome FIT.

Is there some trick/option for one-shot that I'm missing ?

take MaxIm-DL for example

goto the menu

color->covent color

You can debayer in nebulosity - it is the demosaic option in either the image or batch menus (depends if you want to do one image - use image menu or multiple images - use batch menu). There is an option in preferences that lets you manually override colour reconstruction or let nebulosity automatically recognise your camera - if it does not recognise your camera it will pop up a screen that asks for various selections for sensor type and offset that allow nebulosity to process the image correctly. If your camera is not recognised it may be just a case of trial and error till you get the colour right. You may still need to do some further processing to get the image looking how you want it.

please set the correct offset X and Y value

different cameras have different bayer pattern

What are the values for the correct offset x and y values?

Four possibilities:

0, 0

0, 1

1, 0

1, 1

Try them all and pick one that looks correct.
