Can I just check that I can use FireCapture over the USB3 connection at the same time as guiding PHD with the ASCOM driver on the Guider Control Port.

Ah. The Guider Control Port seems a bit superfluous on this particular imager then.

It's rather frustrating. Having a guide star tracked through the same lens at the same time as recording the image seems fairly fundamental. I'll have to rethink what I'm doing. I didn't want to piggyback a whole second guiding scope onto an already heavy primary.

You can use a small finder-guidescope for low mass. If you will be able to do DS lucky imaging at few second exposures then guiding isn't needed while FireCapture can "selfguide" by looking at subs and trying to keep the same fov for next frames.
