HELP!! 174MM suddenly low frame rate!

I was out trying to capture some much needed frames after coping with two weeks of clouds and when I got all setup, I was only able to achieve 24fps at my regular settings. I'm always able to get at least 128fps at my normal ROI

-no changes were made to hardware or software

-same computer and external SSD used as all my other captures

-firecap settings are all the same as before

-I reformatted the ssd

-restarted computer, checked usb 3.0 performance (seems nominal)

I'm wondering if there's something wrong with my external enclosure. Is there something I'm missing somewhere? I've been using the same equipment and software for over a year and never encountered this!!!

***UPDATE**

I don't know what I did but after setting new capture folders on my internal hybrid drive and then resetting the folders back into the external SSD things seems to be back to normal. I dunno what the deal was but those technical gremlins can show up anytime.

I have the 174mm and that has happened to me three times. I unplug the camera and exit the program

(Firecapture) and start back up in several minutes and it goes back to the normal frame rate. No one seems to know why this happens. At least this has worked so far.
