I want to start narrowband imaging with 10 minute exposures. Is the asi 1600 good for such long exposures ? I was reading it had few issues with amp glow ?
You don't need such long exposures with current CMOS based cameras. You may be good with like 1-3min exposures (many short exposed frames). 10 min exposures are a part of older CCD cameras with much higher read noise.
But surely if I'm using a low band pass filter then I'm still going to need 10min plus exposures ? What about the amp glow ?
Sorry but, what configuration you use on Ascom driver for reduce the exposure time so much? With Unity settings I need long exposures on C8 with 0.63 reducer.
Is it better to use higher values on gain and offset?
short exposure is the future
5min should be enough even with narrow banding imaging
