ASI 178MM as autoguider : problem

Hi,

I use my new ASI 178MM as an autoguider with The Sky X or Maxim DL.

The camera is correctly recognized by windows (using windows 8.1) and I can connect to the camera.

My problem is that during autoguiding, the camera suddently stop taking images (could be after 100 images or after 40 images....) ; I have to stop the camera -from the software- and to start again....

I have the same behaviour using ascom driver or the ZWO driver.....

Not very easy to have to stop and start again camera while autoguiding.....

Any idea ?

is the camera connect to your PC directly or through a USB hub?

you can try connect the camera directly to PC

you can also try use ROI when guiding on a star

Thanks for your reply.

My camera is connected directly to an USB 3 port of my PC (no USB hub).

While autoguiding The Sky X automatically display only a small part of the image (box 50x50 in my case) but I could give a try using ROI ; how can I do it in Sky X ?

do you use our ASCOM driver?

I tried both Ascom driver or the zwo driver without success....
