ASI1600mm-c cooling / APT

Hello,

i am using the asi1600mm-c with astro photography tool (APT) and the ascom driver. APT has

a "settings" button which opens the ASCOM Settings Dialog. If the Settings button was pressed a warning Dialog Comes up that warns that the camera has to be temporary disconnected.

In result of this disconnection it leads to a stop of the camera cooling. So i can't easily try different gain Settings without an abrupt increase of the camera temperature and risk of thermal shock. My QHY9 camera holds the current (setted) temperature in this Scenario.

Is this a "Problem" of the ASCOM Driver, or should i contact APT?

Hi Chris

please send one email to me and I will CC to the author of APT

the cooler is stopped once camera is disconnect from software

this is a protect method of our ASCOM driver

so APT should not disconnect when you try to change something

Sorry, what version? 3.13 doesn't work , any chance to obtain the new one?

Yes, that's right. The author changed the Software so that it first tries to open the ASCOM Settings and only if this results in a problem the Software will disconnect the camera. This work's great for me but this Change isn't in a official release yet. So contact the author at the Support email address an he will send you the Change very fast. (Again Thanks Ivo)!
