I want to use the supplied 1.5 inch filter ring adapter to put a UV/IR filter in front of the filter wheel to try and control star bloating in the blue channel.
I assumed that the adapter just replaced the clear window and screwed right in place. Not so. When you remove the ring the glass stays in place, plus the adapter is too large to fit in the recess and has the same thread as the camera. Is it designed to fit inside the extension piece? If so then that does not give enough thread to also attach to a filter wheel.
