FireCapture ROI control

I'm setting up an ASI 174MM for solar imaging, using a spectroheliograph.

This means using an ROI of around 1920 x 48 pixel and obtaining the highest possible frame rate. The trials so far show the frame rate is OK - around 600fps but I'm still having "problems" with the ROI and/or Cut-out features of FireCapture.

The frame rate is much slower when the Cut-Out feature is selected....and using the commands given (Ctrl+drag to move) I can't get it to reposition on the image!

The reduced ROI option gives fantastic frame rates, but the "Shift+Arrows to move" doesn't seem to work - it increases the size of the ROI!!

I need to be able to reposition the ROI on the screen to match the spectral image.

Can someone/ anyone with more experience with FireCapture help me???

The cutout filter is done by software

I am not sure FC can catch up with the speed of very small ROI of 174

I think you should use Control+Arrows to move

The Cut Out in FC results in a very low fps.....

The ROI seems to be much better, around >400fps

BUT I'm still struggling to get the positioning of the ROI to suit the spectrum image....

OK, problem solved!

Operator error............

You just need to click and drag a box to make a new ROI.
