ASI 1600 Colour cooled Imaging

Hello , i had my first light with the cam one week bevor , nice cam ; )),

but a question : What the typical imaging times f.e. for Clusters like M13 , or planetary nebula `s like M57 , Coccon nebula a.s.o . ( for multiple exposures , where is there the border make sense ? ) I tryed 50 x 8 sec. M57 and 200 x 8 " M13 . Where are the borders make sense for the different types of object`s . My imaging programms to control te ASI 1600 are APT and AstroLive USB .

I hope you have any ideas ? I worked with PI / CS 5 .

The computing time for about 200 raw images in PI is very long !!! ( MacOS X 10.11.6 mid 2010 6,1 with 1 TB SSD and 8 Gbyte RAM . ( i5 with 4 logical / 2 physical cores )

you'd better choose to use longer exposure such like 30s or 60s if you wish to process with PI

for lucky imaging, AS!2 is faster is process lots of frames

i take shorter times so with M27 and M13, but M27 longer times , but in the next test

i will try your suggestions ; )

Hello Sam , here some examples with the new cam in Bernau near Berlin with heavy lightpollution in the sky , Telescope 10 " F10 ! focal , no filters at temperature -20 ° C .

M 57 20 x 8 " , gain 192

M13 143 x 8 " , gain 192

M 27 5 x 600 ", gain 192,

Developement in PI take a lot of time f.e. M13 !!! - Autostakkert 2 alternativ for stacking - good idea .

Image aquisition with AstroLive USB , very fine programm .

In summery at this time i think that your very exiting cam is useable for planetary imaging and deepsky and for public viewing in live mode with Astrolive USB !!!

Hello Sam, i tested the cam last friday on MAC OS - AstroLive USB and on Parallels Win 7 with APT 3.1.3. , Both programms crashed unexpected at different points of work most in combination with changing binning . I red that it is neccessary for ASI 1600 users to work with ascom driver 1.0.2.5. ?

But in Astrolive i cannot found any explanation ? .

Similar problem on windows subnotebook with APT there after installation Ascom 6.2 and newest zwo drivers for ASI cams APT cannot found the cam ?? In the devicemanager the cam is properly installed .

Same problem in Astrolive but found the cam and crashed . Sharpcap newest version under windows 2.9xxx works. I think here is a cameradriver problem at all ?

Any suggestions ? , i hope you have a good idea ; )

P.S. donetframework is version 4 - i must upgrade in the subnetbook to 4.5. ???

I don't think it's .net problem

we recommend use the ASCOM driver on windows platform

you can try to contact the author of APT if you have problem with it on windows

I think it should runs well from feedback of other users

About Astrolive, did you try the latest version？

wich is the latest version number from AstroLive usb ,

i found the problem in APT by myself, The Ascomdriver !!! installation failed. After new installation of your newset driver APT runs properly ; )))

did not work properly under Win 7 prof. / Parallels 12 , the proggy crashed after

click on noise reduction immedately ; ((((,

but runs under Mac OS X 10.11.6 good same procedure , any explanations ?

How we can see wich version has AstroLive USB , where the user can see the history of the nice proggy ?
