Dust on new ASI1600MM cooled right out of the box

Hello Listers,

Has anyone had quality issues with new ZWO cameras?

I've just taken my first light image and was really disappointed with the number of donuts on the image.

Is there a way to clean the sensor as well as the small black spot on the right hand side of the image.

It seems the dust was present when the box was first opened.

The smallest black spot is the closest to sensor (maybe in the cover window).

The larger are farther away, maybe filter if you use one.

You can clean those (with same equipment which is used for camera lenses), but there will always be new one. So best to take flat frames which takes care of problem.

The filter wheel and filters were also new from ZWO and were specific for the ASI1600MM Cooled.

I'll have to inspect the filters and cover window carefully and clean accordingly.

I agree that taking flat frames is always necessary for a number of reasons!
