ASI 1600 Cpoled Color Stttings

I bought one of these cameras and I've spent some time trying to figure out the correct settings to use to get reasonable color in MaximDL, the software I normally use for image calibration. I am not getting anything even remotely reasonable.

So --

1. Is there anyone using this camera and MaximDL that can tell me their settings for color conversion?

2. What driver settings would deliver the best color - lowest read noise is what I'm using but I've also tried most dynamic range and it looks similar?

3. If you are able to get nice color with different software, please tell me about it. I'd be happy to buy something like Nebulosity if it would work better.

It seems no matter what I do, there is no color at all in the Soul nebula and all the stars are white or blue! Any help here would be appreciated.

2. Lowest read noise is suitable for shorter exposures (say up to a minute) and most dynamic range is for longer exposures (say minute and up).

Thanks this is a good starting point for me. Can someone explain the term "offset"? I think that it means adding some number of ADU to prevent negative values but I can't find anything in the documentation about what it means. I am basically getting no signal at all with 5 minute exposures at F7 so I must be doing something wrong. I can see that I need to set the gain up to around 200 but offset values have me in the dark.

you are completely correct that offset is just to add some number of ADU to prevent negative values

so you just need to adjust the offset higher to make sure no negative value happen

you can tell from the histogram
