ASI 1600 MMC does not work with USB 3.0 and longer cable

Hello,

I use some ASI 1600 MMC with the delivery USB 3.0 Cable up to 1,5 m length, the camera works well.

When I take a longer cable explain 3 m, the camera works sometimes, when I use my longer 5 m cable, the camera does not work anytime.

The USB 3.0 are good quality cable.

I use a Schenker XMG P 406 Gaming-Power-Book with 3x USB 3.0 and 1x USB 3.1, Intel i7 with PCIe-SSD and second SATA III-SSD, 32 GB RAM DDR4 HyperXX, Windows 10.

The camera ASI 1600 MMC is the actually model with integrated 2x USB 2.0 on top.

What can I do to use longer cable over 1,5 m length?

Any answer?

XMG cannot deliver updates for my mainboard to fix my USB-Problem, and there are no updates for ASI-Driver to download.

Can any body help me?

the usb3.0 cable come from the camera is 2 meters long

5 meters USB3.0 cable usually doesnot work well

this is because the speed of USB3.0 is too high

you can try a 3 meters USB3.0 cable which should works

5 meters USB2.0 cable should works too

I can use the cam only with 3 m cable as minimum, 2 m is too short.

I have three laptops and with two laptops, the 3 m works well, but at my best laptop (XMG Gaming SSD) the 3 m cable does not work. I must use an active cable with 5 m and the ASI-Cable with 2 m behind, then the camera works well.

The other solution is to use an USB 3.0-active HUB with 50 cm 3.0 cable before the hub an 3 or 5 m behind this box, I will test it now.

I think, there are many difference between some laptops and their chipsets?

yes, there is difference, but they all good device because too long cable is not supported by the USB3.0 protocol
