Hi,
While I'm waiting for the shipment I'd like to check details on assembly, and then order adapters and possibly an OAG.
I can't find any good closeup images around, to confirm if the camera body has male T2-threads directly on the camera body, or if another method of attachment is used. The text is simply "Attached the camera to the EFW as shown." (http://astronomy-imaging-camera.com/manuals/ASI1600%20Manual.pdf sect. 7)
Either way, is it somehow possible to control that the "hanging end" (drive side) of the filter wheel will point the same way as the short axis of the imaging chip?
In the mounting sample from the manual the filter wheel seems to be aligned this way, but not on the EFWmini product page (http://astronomy-imaging-camera.com/wp-content/uploads/P1010774.jpg)
The (rather odd) reason I'm asking is that my most frequent use of this stuff is supposed to be with C11HD + Hyperstar. I have designed (and pre-tested) an elliptical off-center vignette to remove possibly annoying diffraction spikes and odd star shapes caused primarily by the corners of the filter wheel hanging into the light path.
I see that I have just enough backspace to fit a slim off-axis guider with a compact guiding camera hiding within this vignette if the EFWmini can hang out from the long side of the imaging chip as mentioned.
Anyone with EFWmini and ASI1600?
