Greetings,
I attach the ASI178MC cable to Trendnet TU3-H2EC USB3.0 ExpressCard USB 3 port and no image is displayed in SharpCap and FireCapture.
However, if I plug the camera cable into the laptop USB 2 ports, an image IS now available in SharpCap and FireCapture.
I'm using a stable Win 7 Lenovo Y430 laptop with latest ZWO & Trendnet drivers.
Is it possible I have a bad Trendnet card?
Suggestions and comments welcomed!
Thanks!
I doubt this answers your question, but this might be of interest:

I use the same adapter with my ASI224MC USB3. Are you powering your adapter? Have you plugged another USB device into the Trend NET adapter to see if it worked with that device? Even a mouse or MP3 or other external drive would do. If it does, then it might not be a driver issue.
I wrote the above forum entry. Earlier this week I learned that I wasn't getting speeds as fast as I could with the ASI224MC and this adapter. It was highly variable in output. However, if I unplug the plug the adapter back in immediately before filming, my fps increase. Why this is I don't know. Likely the issue is elsewhere. It is possible the camera doesnt even require more power than an unpowered ExpressCard provides, despite my "findings." It could even be a FireCapture (FC) issue.
As such, you can also try different versions of FC to see it the issue is resolved that way. FC can be finicky, as can these adapters.
