Bias frame from the ASI1600mm

Just bought an ASI1600mm and looking forward to using it. Whilst waiting for clear skies, have been looking at the chip data. I have attached a histogram of a bias frame which looks odd as there is no smooth gaussian curve. Is this the nature of CMOS chips or can someone explain please. For comparison, I have shown the histogram for a CCD 8300 chip.

Is the ASI 1600mm using correlated double sampling to remove an offset? This would explain what I see in the histogram?
