I finally had a bit of clear skies so I was able to get some use out of the camera. I pretty much got things working other than issues with SharpCap crashing - but I'll deal with those separately. What I did encounter is some image issue and I don't know the source of the problem or what's might be causing it. I don't recall seeing any discussion of this in the early introduction threads so any help is appreciated.
The image was taken with a WO Star71 and the ASI1600MC-C attached directly to the scope. No filters as in the imaging train. Ambient temps were in the low 30's F. Is this a gain issue or some other cause? I know it tends to disappear with shorter exposures lower gain but it's still somewhat visible. The fact that it shows up regardless of where the scope was pointed would tend to rule out any stray light issues.
