ASI120MC does not expose

Hi all,

i encounter a strange behaviour of my ASI120MC which is attached to a Raspberry Pi3. I tried to upgrade the SDK today morning from version 0.3.0727 to 0.5.1215.

After that my Cam seems not to expose any more. getExpStatus() always returns EXP_IDLE (i.e. 0) before and after startExposure(), it never gets into EXP_WORKING or EXP_SUCCESS any more. Same with corresponding ASI2 SDK code. Restarting the whole system did not work either. The supplied SDK demo programs return black images but do not complain otherwise.

Unfortunately it was not working again when i switched back to the old v0.3.0727. I had some hangs of the Cam in the last weeks (it's a 24x7 allskycam) too which seem to occur more often lately but restarting the program always helped. I also want to add that today the temperatures dropped below zero but that was the case a few weeks ago too and did not give any problems.

Any ideas?

ps. next thing i will try when i have more time is to connect the ASI120MC to a Windows PC and try to test it with ASCOM etc. The Cam is only a few months old.

thanks for the new SDK version! But unfortunately it did not solve my problem. :

In the meanwhile i was able to test the camera under Windows 10 with the SDK demo program and it worked fine. At least it is not a hardware problem.

can you provide me your code? I want to test it on my Raspberry Pi, because 120MM works with this new SDK here.

i finally restored my last image backup of the raspi from November and the camera worked fine again. Then i restored my latest git commit of the c++ code from last week, compiled it again and it worked too. The cam was exposing normally. That means my program code is ok, so something must have gone wrong with my last SDK installation.

Next I will retry to install the latest SDK Version again and see what happens. I also hope the new SDK will eliminate the occasional hangs of the cam (once or twice a day) i experienced before. I am thinking to try the compatible firmware version too.
