Using ASI1600 with Nikon lens

Good afternoon,

I'm interested in the ASI1600 CMOS for use in a mobile imaging setup to to used with a 70mm quad at F5 and have a few queries. Firstly would I need to go up to the 31mm filters over the 1.25s if used with the ZWO EFW to avoid vignetting bearing in mind a sensor to filter distance of 10mm. I'd also like to potentially use this with camera with some of my Nikon lenses. I realise backfocus may be a problem using a filter wheel and I see there is a thread close to the sensor. Can this take a 1.25 filter or otherwise that will also allow me to couple to a lens via a convertor? I hope that makes sense.

yes, you'd better pick up the 31mm

back focus usually won't be a problem as you can adjust the lens focus

FWIW, I am using the ASI1600MC with the Geoptik Nikon adapter, The optical train is: Lens (Nikkor 105 f/2.5 or Sigma APO 70/300) + Geoptik adaptor + 5mm T2 extension + 18.5mm ZWO nose + ASI1600MC. Please note that the Geoptik 7,4-9,5mm T2 extension cannot be used, the focus plane is too inside. Also, I can focus without the 5mm with one of the lenses (I don't remember which, I can try this weekend).
