Sam, it is clear that at least some retailers in the US were shipping the v 1.2 224/224 cool cameras to retail buyers until very recently. The explanation we get here is that HPS did not timely inform retailers about the version update and continued to ship the v1.2 cameras to retailers.
That leads us to ask what is ZWO's plan to make whole the buyers who received the v1.2 versions after v1.3 became available.
I think that it is a good thing that you are improving your cameras, but in this instance customers made good faith purchases not knowing the were getting the old version. That is the sort of thing that taints an otherwise excellent brand.
In this circumstance the best action is for ZWO, with or without the cooperation of HPS, to offer those of us who bought 224 cameras after some date (mid 2016 or earlier) a no cost replacement.
