I've been using a ASI174MC for imaging and autoguiding with no problems for about a year. A couple of days ago I disconnected it from my guidescope to take some images of the moon. What I ended up with was absolutely terrible. I'm not sure exactly what the problem is but it looks like the camera is only recording part of the full bayer matrix and I'm not sure why. I don't know why all the small black dots are showing up in the image but its ruining and post processing I do.
I've tried using both Registax and Autostakker as well as using both SharpCap and FireCap. In all cases, same issues.....
Has anyone seen something like this? Do you know why its happening and more importantly how to fix it?
