I am trying to work out if I have a fault with the USB hub built into my new ASI1600MM-Cool. Specifically the top USB 2.0 port.
I will try and explain what is happening.
If I connect my ASI1600MM-Cool to my PC and open Firecapture it works ok.
If I then connect my ZWO EFW to the bottom USB port on the ASI1600MM-Cool and open Firecapture then it still works ok. I can control both the ASI1600MM-Cool and the EFW from within Firecapture.
If I repeat the procedure above but use the top USB port on the ASI1600MM-Cool to connect the EFW then no EFW is detected by Firecapture.
I have also just purchased a ZWO OAG and ASI185MC.
If I connect the ASI185MC to the bottom USB port on the ASI1600MM-Cool and open Firecapture then a box appears asking which camera I would like to use (ASI1600MM-Cool or ASI185MC). I can select either and they will work with no problems.
If I repeat the above procedure and connect the ASI185MC to the bottom USB port on the ASI1600MM-Cool then when I open Firecapture it asks me to choose a camera but only offers me the ASI1600MM-Cool then as soon as Firecapture tries to load it crashes with a "Java Platform SE binary has stopped working" error message.
To rule out an issue with Firecapture I have tested in SharpCap and when the ASI185MC is connected to the bottom USB port on the ASI1600MM-Cool it can see both cameras and I can switch between them.
When the ASI185MC is connected to the top USB port on the ASI1600MM-Cool SharpCap loads and can see 2 ASI1600MM-Cool in the menu but no ASI185MC and it then crashes if I try to click on one of the ASI1600MM-Cool cameras.
It appears that the top USB port is not dead and can detect something is plugged in but is not working as it should.
Have I set something up wrong or is the ASI1600MM-Cool faulty. I have only had it since late December 2016 and have not yet had a chance to use it properly due to the weather.
As far as I am aware I have installed all the correct drivers, ASCOM etc.
