ASI290MC stops recording frames

I have spent a few more hours looking at this. I have managed to get the fps up to 158 in the AVI file but only if I turn OFF debayering within FireCapture. So if I checkbox the debayer option so the output from the camera is in colour then the fps rate drops to around 70. Why is this? That can't be right.

NB - in addition to the above this is very hard to recreate. Most times I am not recording any frames with the recording hanging and thus getting a file that is very short with a low frame rate such as 30fps. So still not very successful with this camera. I would like to hear from anyone who has an ASI290MC that successfully records at near 170fps regularly?

I take a picture to show some important settings for you. ASI290 on my computer can run 170FPS.

Thanks for the screenshot but I was using Firecapture not SharpCap as SharpCap only records 30fps regardless of these settings. I have now firmly decided the camera is being returned as it does not perform as described. Thanks for your assistance I hope the camera works for others in future, but for now this is unfortunately not the best astronomy product I have purchased which is a shame as I had high hopes.

I'm sorry to hear that. I really don't know what happened to your ASI290MC， This is a very odd issue I have ever seen. if it could, I always suggest to alternate a new one ASI290MC by us.

software usually choose to set the fps of the video to 30fps

but it doesnot mean the video is captured at 30fps

you should tell from the software when capturing
