I recently purchased a ASI071 and when I looked at my darks, there was a bright band, like amp glow, along the bottom 1/10th of the frame. A post on cloudy nights says it's because the camera is operating at USB 2 speeds. My camera is plugged into an Express Bus USB3 adapter using the Renesas chip-set and it does indeed come up as a USB 2 device (Windows 7). I tested another USB3 device, an external disk, and it came up as a USB3 device. I would really like to have USB3 speeds as well as the band removed at the bottom of the image. Could it be cable problem? A compatibility problem with the Renesas USB3 chip-set? Other than that, the camera works great and my first test shot turned out quite well for such a short integration time.
