ASI1600mm-c new version and Holder Ring

I have purchased the ASI-1600mm-c (new version). There is a screw for the desiccant tube. Under this screw is a o-ring which causes that the screw is about 1mm over the surface of the camera.

That means that the holder ring cannot be used.

After I had removed the o-ring, the screw ist flat to the camera surface.

Question: Is this o-ring mandatory?

The O ring is using to seal the chamber against dew. So, I suggest to put it back. Holder ring can be move a litter back to hold the camera.

OK, I can move the holder ring from the back, but then the cooling fan is all around covered by about 10mm. If this is no problem then OK.
