Hello,

I just finished uploading a new beta version (0.7.0-beta1) of my Planetary Imager application.

One of the biggest news of this release is the availability for all major platforms (although OSX users might struggle a bit..). But of course, we also have a few new interesting features, like a network mode (client and server), a new histogram, and profiles support. Please look the official changelog for more information.

Fixes a few more issues, particularly a crash when disconnecting an ASI camera.

Hi,

I just installed the new windowsversion on my desktop with immediate succes. That is not the case with linux on my laptop. I get the following fault:

Hello, thank you for the testing :) I'm happy that the windows beta is working quite right :)

The installation issue you found on Linux is something I've been quite afraid of, and I'll need to take care of it as soon as possible, but it might be a bit complex, for now, since it involves not only my packages, but external packages too...

Basically, it's just a conflict between packages: libqhy (which I presume you installed by INDI website), and PlanetaryImager itself.

A workaround is to install the package with the force option:

dpkg --force overwrite -i PlanetaryImager-0.6.97-20170421-beta3-Linux-x86_64_ubuntu-16.10.deb

I will write this in the FAQ section :)

Can you confirm where did you grab libqhy from?

Thanks for the reply. Ik did install KSTARS and INDI so there might be an earlier installation of files like libqhy.

Further: I now did install the stable package (0.6.2.) with no errors reported. But I do not see the Hat-Icon

Do I need a command like Planetary_Imager start? But that did not work. As you see I am no expert in Linux.

Btw my compliments for the images from Jupiter you made with modest aperture telescope!

Mhh.. it should be a lowercase "planetary_imager" command, from a console.

But I really recommend upgrading to 0.7 beta for two reasons: lots of new features and improvements, and also because the final release (0.7) will probably have the same issue. It will be unlikely to be fixed until 0.8

I can't see the full file, but it's probably correct, if you managed to installl it alright.

I need a few more information:

Did you reboot after the installation?

Are other applications (like oaCapture) correctly working?

Can you send me the full application log? You can find a menu entry in the "Planetary Imager" application menu item.

Sorry for the delay (was for a week holiday in Vienna)

I do not remember rebooting after installation. oacapture is not working without problems. There is an image to see but scattered and pulsing.

I shall first reinstall the newest release. Hopefully problems are gone then.

Concerning oacapture I meant the program is workin, does connect the camera but the image is not stable, its fractured and constantly quivering. I will sent you the version and the logfile by email soon.

First reinstall planetary-imager.
