ASI1600MM-C USB hub

Greetings All,

I just got my ASI1600MM-C and have not had first light yet. I am in the process of setting everything up and have a question regarding the USB hub. I see that the camera is USB 3.0, but the hub is for two USB 2.0 periferals. The experience I have had with USB 3.0 hubs is that they are only as fast as the weakest link. Every time I have used a hub with both 3.0 and 2.0, I only get 2.0 speed.

Does this happen with the 1600? I would like to run the filterwheel and focuser through the hub but not at the expense of camera upload/download speed.

No answers? I guess I just going to have to measure the speed difference. I'll post my results.

ASI1600MM-C has one USB3.0 port, and two USB2.0 port.

USB3.0 port is using a USB3.0 cable to connect computer for photography.

USB2.0 port is using to connect the guide camera or wheel.

I know how the HUB is set up. My question relates to what happens to the speed of the USB 3.0 device when you run a USB 2.0 through the same HUB. My experience has been that you lose the advantage of USB 3.0 and only get USB 2.0 speed. I haven't tested this yet, but was hoping that someone knew.

you are correct, the camera then will run at the speed of USB2.0
